Found this thred from a search as i picked up "The annoted Chronicles" at the library today. I've read a fairly few of the dragonlance books when i was younger but thought this would make a good read to see the authors perspective on why they chose to have certain things and what inspired them whilst writting. Anyone know of any other fantasy series' for which these type of annoted books are available?

I like the Dragonlance books. I've only read the Legends, and the first one of the Chronicles (I didn't know the Chronicles came first, so i ended up reading them in the wrong order). The writing wasn't nearly as good as LotR's, but I'll stop right there, because nothing is (in my oppinion, anyhow).

Bringing up an earlier convorsation (butting into others arguments, and going off topic. 5th post and I'm already breaking the rules!

), I like the Sword of Shannara. It was a knockoff of Lord of the Rings (kinda), but it was still interesting enough for me. I haven't read the Elfstone of Shanarra (yet) because I had heard that it is the most boring book in the world, but now I am reading otherwise......

i personally loved dragonlance as a matter of fact im named after one of the characters in the books thats the reason i read the trilogy and what do you mean that theres more ive only read the first three (uhoh said that already) i really liked the twins raistlin and caramon. the relationship behind tanis and laurana(i think thats how you spell it) is very complicated. as for tolkeins writing i liked the hobbit the others i fell asleep reading(no twenty page desciptions of one room please). what are the other titles ill go read them.
