I've always thought "summat" was a funny one, though I'm not sure I've ever really heard it spoken. It just doesn't sound right when I say it.

My substitute words are more like, "the little stupid thing", "person over there" and "hey what's-your-face!!" I have a terrible time with words.

By all means, use that word in another language! People will never know you "can't find the right dutch word for it." They'll think you're just showing off your language skills.

Ah yes. But you first have to have language skills for that!

Last year, for some strange reason, I forgot how to speak English for about five minutes. It was wierd because I'm not really fluent in any other language.

Well ... I've never forgotten how to speak English, but one of my best friends friends did. It was a very odd because he was sitting there panicking and gesticulating wildly, and my other best friend and I thought he was going insane or something!

Yes... it was very traumatic because there were all these thoughts in my mind that weren't in the form of words; they were images. I'm lucky because this happened while I was at my house, and no one was around to witness it.

And then there's my personal favorite -- doohickey.

Add the thingy to the summat, hmmm, isn't that sort of an algebra problem?

I see my vocabulary has been severely starved. I'll have to find a use for that one. Of course, clicker (can be used to refer to anything with buttons) and thingamajig also come in very handy.

What am I doing??

I do the "walking into a room and have no idea why I was going there" alot. I'm seriously paranoid of getting Alzhiemers since my dad has it, but I'm pretty sure it's just my constant multi-tasking backfiring sometimes. I can't get "oldtimers"! I am "the brain" for the entire family! They wouldn't do anything "right" if it wern't for me!!!

Isnt forgetting things fun? I forgot the word for curtain once. And lots of other things.

Thingy is my favourite word. If you were to read any of my homework you could tell whether it was science or not my counting "thingies". Sometimes I will say "thingerbobber" too, but not in writing.

BoP, i use clicker for my remote control. Does anyone else do that?

I was writing to my friend from camp the other day and i totally knew her name but try as I might, I couldn't think of it. I was like, "your name is...um...give me a second...it's uh, er, yeah. Whatever your name is..."

That is me all the way. Only when it comes down to it, half the time i was actually just going into the other room because I was bored. But not always. Definately not always.

This one really got me- You know that kids show about animals with the little lemur thing and I think it's on PBS? I forgot the name of it for days. Then I suddenly remembered, and out of no where I shouted "Zooboomafoo!"

No, i was at home actually. We did have company though. The thing is, I don't think they would've noticed. Everyone has come to expect that sort of thing from me.

Join the club. I'm forever trying to get my point across, but for some weird reason my mind has gone on screen saver and I can't remember how to say anything in english!! Frustrating. Its at those moments when "thingamajigger" and "whahza-callums" come in soo handy.

That sounds a lot like one of my best friends. Not me; I talk to myself and forget thinks -- um, things -- all the time, but generally don't shout it out. I'm the one who stammers sometimes, saying a word that does not fit in the conversation, or winds up making a new word!
