I read it for the first time in 7th grade, and I really enjoyed it, though most of the other people didn't. It was the only book we read in class that I enjoyed. I tried to get my teacher to let us read LotR, but she said it was too long.
Back to the topic. To Kill a Mockingbird is a great book because it brings up all-important issues that everyone should know about.
I didn't think it was boring, but I could see how some could think it was.

I (also) read the book at school........and found it dull then.

reading it since i found it very absorbing...the characters are very plain ....but dill, scout, and especially Boo Radley are perfect for the story line......what they don't say......is wot the book is all about.

Deffo a book to be read "between the lines".

if u found it borin'....watch the film (a classic) then try the book again

I have to read it for school, too. We just started it on Monday ('tis now Friday, of the same week), but I love it so far. I read ahead of the rest of the class because we're only supposed to be on chapter three... if I finish it quickly enough, she's going to let me do another book!! *Whoot!* Anyway, I haven't finished it yet, but I love it thus far.

To Kill a Mockingbird- GREAT BOOK. We read it at school for our GCSEs and our teacher Dr Cochran (ex RSC) did all the voices of the characters which made it fun! Really moving story though and the mvies good too (Gregory Peck etc.) It made me cry at the end with Boo and the others. Unfortunately we had to do a project on racism in that time period and had to do some really shocking research and watch Mississippi Burning- It made me cry to know there was such persecution of people then just because of the colour of there skin. I think Harper Lee handles such a difficult subject beautifully and really captures all the right emotions. A recommended read. Mx

Well the book was okay, I though it was really to fake. I might be thinking this because I read Catcher in the Rye after that in eight grade and that book was much better in an odd sort of way

I thought it was a very...heart warming tale, I suppose because of Scout most likely. But Atticus is by far my favorite character...or was it Jem?

I read it when I was very young because my father decided he was going to bribe me to read, one of his passions. He said he would pay me 10 dollars to read it, and I never made him pay up. I especially like how the language breathes through the book.

"And he'd be there when he waked up in the morning."

and all.

anyway, I say give the book a chance, it deserves it.

It was a strong a powerful book. I really understood it, many people told me that it was kind of a boring book. But it was a timeless classic that will never change. The lord of the rings will never top this book. It is the basis of all human nature, adn just plainly how people act. Pathos and human reaction were the words i would use to discribe this book. It was the best book that i've every read. Atticus was by far the most astounding character. Being in sixth grade adn reading it really tested my comprehension adn my vocabulary. There is so much sybolism in this book and i loved it. And if you don't love it, there is always room for more classics. My opinion is that this book was great and reenforced the way we act. To kill a mocking bird shows you what we were, and what we've become, take that comment however you wish, but in my mind, it was the greatest book of all time, and it will never die!

It was a great book, the author wrote it so realalisticly! My favorite charactor, of course, was Scout. But in second place was Jem.

I read TKaMB in 7th grade, it was pretty good. But then again, our teacher expected us to love it as much as she did. She named her cat Miss Maudie, for chrissake.

I liked it cause it wasn't exactly a happy ending. It was nice to read a book that wasn't perfect.
I don't have a fave character and It's not my FAVORITE book but it was definitly good.
