That's exactly what I was thinking - they probably had to go manually into the database to update it. The coders didn't think about having to allow them to to make changes. And if they did - then the users needed a manager with the right security - who of course was probably on coffee break and not around.

OK FotR lost out on another one - sound errrr thingy. Not music though.

So that's 2 from 6, giving them a possible maximum now of 9. Glad I only said they'd win 5

And what WAS that Hale Berry (sp?) was wearing? Ewww.... famous for being famous now that girl is...

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." Sohjnd editing to Peal Harbor, and well-deserved. Could not hear galadriel in her rant nor Sauron in the Inn at Bree for crud.

Gutted Shrek won best animated doobrie - I haven't seen the film because I was put off by the ugly modelling (that princess looks mank!) and the terrible lip-syncing. Oh well.
Speaking of which Ice Age is out next week YAY! Trouble is, I think I'm going to like the film less than I liked the first trailer with the mammal getting the nut and causing the glaciar to collapse. I just want an hour and a half of this guy he's so sweet

Okay, dagnabit, I am rabid in my disappointment.

It makes me bloody well SICK that Ian McKellam did not win THIS year fo Gandalf. However, we have two more years in which to see this magnificent actor receive his just due.

If Lord of the Rings wins neither Best Director nor Movie of the Year, I will slip into gutter Cantonese chinese and curse the entier Academy!!!!!!

Scum scum scum sucm scum scum scum scum scum scum

and UP the Black Hobbits!

I do agree with that.
This was really the award I was rooting for because I find it hard to empathise as a whole with films generally, it's just a preference really.
But Gandalf was cool, and if they'd just taken out a few 'humanising' scenes (namely hitting his head at bag-end and trying to push the doors of moria) then he'd be the Gandalf I've alwayts imagined.

We loves ya Ian

I was surprised that Russell Crowe didn't win best actor - but I haven't seen Iris.

The problems I had with Gandalf were Jackson's fault really. Gerbil already pointed out two, I would also add the way Elrond talked to Gandalf and the way Gandalf whimpered beside Saruman as Gandalf told him how the Ring was in Hobbiton.

Ian was the only slam dunk as far as I am concerned.

Oh well, maybe he'll win next year when he becomes IAN THE WHITE!!!

Oh oh OOOOOOOOH!
They just did the little bit on FotR they do for all the main nominees, and in the sequence they used 2 clips not from FotR:

1) The battle scene shown in the main trailer - looks like battle of the pelannor fields
2) Some fast zooming scene of mordor and Barad-dur - looked cool

And that circ de soleil stuff - mad!

They haven't done that yet - they've done best supporting male and female so far.

Cheers guys

Did anyone else notice how they played the music just when the fourth guy was about to do his speech so he couldn't?

And dear GOD tell me that wasn't William Shatner PLEASE!!!

So what is there still left?

Best music
Bestest song
Goodest Director
Nicest film
Splendiferousest screenplay (adapted)

Is that right or are there more?
