*I know where the word "guru" comes from, and I like to explain it to all my friends. (two sanskrit words "gu" and "ru". "gu" means darkness, and "ru" means light. Consequently, a "guru" is someone who takes you from darkness, and into the light )
*I do embroidery and needlework.
*My favorite prank is to shortsheet someone's bed. I'm the only one around here (school) that really knows how to short sheet a bed! classic, classic prank
* I like to paint just my left thumbnail
* I have three goldfish, and I named them Sam, Merry and Pippin. They narrowly escaped being named Larry, Curly, and Moe, but the girl across the hall had a fish named Frodo, so the LotR theme seemed logical to me.
* I like classic literature; Tale of Two Cities is my favorite book.

-->Kyote: if you like ghosts, read Perelandra. That living dead thing freaked me out!
-->Nibs: If you were only born into an LDS church, what are you now? Any religious affiliation?

Concerning crop circles

http://www.lovely.clara.net/milkhill97.html

About crop circles. In this link I think is some of the "evidence" that I don't understand. But it might just be a bunck of bull. Tell me what you think, Straws.

Crick, I've read Perelandra and started reading the other two from that trilogy, but I grew disintrested. I like CS Lewis non-fiction, Mere Christianity and such. I think he should of left his friend with the fiction. Yes, which means I didn't like That Lion nor the witch nor that smelly wardrobe!!

~I will suddenly for no reason yell "You cannot pass!"
~When I meet someone new, the only thing I can think to say are from LOTR
~I gulp down my luch and spend the rest of lunch hour in the library reading

That's just the beginning.

Hmmm....why?

Okay, here goes.

-I act like a baby at school. (No...not like a crybaby...I really make little weird noises like babies do.)

-I complain about B's
-I eat 'weird', healthy food at lunch instead of chips.
-I'm not into pop culture, styles, etc.
-Makeup and lotion are my worst enemies
-I was homeschooled for 8 years
-I'm a Tolkien freak and not afraid tell the world about it!
-I can be hyper and calm at the same time...at least that's what people say.
-I often go out of my "quiet, shy" personality and launch into lengthy, usually one-sided conversations.

That's not all...I imagine you're scared already, so I'll spare you.

Oooh, emplynx, I want to know why rotating doors were created! Those things are so much fun! C'mon, everyone, they're fun, right? Right?? They're FUN!!!

I'm not weird. Wait . . . no, wait, I'm not sure. What's the definition of weird anyway? Where did that word come from? I think and hope I have a distinct personality, is that what weird means?

Let's see, distinctly FF things . . .

Started/co-wrote "Fellowship of the Messageboard.
"Dings" when bored.
Ed lives forever! Yes, Hobbit, they're ALL Eds!!
Have shrine complete with candles, incense, and offerings in my closet. Don't know what the shrine is too, but it looks cool.
Have a mutated fourth toe on each foot!! Wooo!
Sometimes play Irish whistle with my nose.
Think this thread is a stroke of genius.
Have sinister theories about the name "Tom," the existence of gila monsters, and the usage of dark matter to bring fantasies to life.

Does that count as weird?

What's an olsonm? How is it pronounced? OL-SON-MMMM?

Rotating doors were invented to equalize the pressure of the inside and outside of a building so it doesn't implode like it could with a swinging door, which sucks air out of a building.
More things about me

I am 6 feet 7 inches
I wear a size 16 shoe
I make random weird sounds
I like Kim Chee (spicy fermented cabbage eaten in Korea)
Kim Chee would be a nice name for a kid. Or a cat, for that matter.

Wow, a building can implode if you don't have the right kind of door? Cool! There's way too much I don't know about architecture. Everything, actually.

This'll take awhile

LOTR Related weirdness
~I talk to the LOTR pictures on my homemade poster, calling Frodo 'Lij, Merry Dom, and Legolas Orlie(I dotn really talk to Pippin or Sam)
~I realize I haven't seen the stars for awhile so I go outside barefoot in the middle of winter with a sheet"cloak" around my shoulders.
~I call my blouse, my capris, my vest, and cut up blanket my Hobbit attire.
~I plan on mapping out The Shire.
~I seriously consider putting Rogaine on my feet
~I DREAM about meeting 'Lij, Dom,Orlie,Billy, and Sean and actually hold conversations with the air PRETENDING that I met them.
~I call my BFF "The Elf"
~"The Elf" and I talk LOTR at the top of our lungs in a mall and form a two woman Fellowship.
~I name things in the Shire after things in Middle Earth and place outside of the Shire after places in Middle Earth. Like my favorite climbing tree is Old Man Willow by the River Brandywine and my Church is "The House of Elrond" in "Rivendell"(Lava Hot Springs)
~I pronounce the word Fish as FISSSSHHHH
~Favorite words are Numbskull,Noodles, Neekerbreeker and a word coined by Elijah Wood Bobies(Take a nap in elvish)
Non LOTR Related
~I give away where I live to complete strangers.
~I actually would let complete strangers take me home just because they were Tolkien fans.
~When referring to myself I say "We" "Us" Like if We need something We say "let us have that".
~I am so anti Cliche you wouldn't beleive.
~I would continue writing Elijah even if he hasn't answered any of my thousand letters.
~I do a happy dance even if I get a gutter ball in bowling.
~I make so many messes where ever I go everyone knows that Abbie has been there(it happened at the library. My Mom say this mess on a table and KNEW I had been there)
~I LOVE the Library.
~And I actually PROMOTE my weirdness.
~I hate non originality and Clicheness

Me? Wierd? I couldn't possibly be wierd! See, I'm perfectly normal, honest! Couldn't find anyone more normal than me!

Yeah, right. And pigs habitually dance jigs while floating through the air.

The many ways in which I am wierd:
For all of my Tolkien-related wierdness, see the YKYLTTMW thread. But for other stuff:
~I collect weapons (but I think you people already knew that. . .)
~I will listen to the same CD for about a month non-stop, then switch it and listen to someting else. (Well, I used to do that anyway.)
~I have never actually had a real job, but I spend lots of time volunteering for various organizations, then I complain about not having any money.

Well, that's about 1/1000th of all my (non-Tolkien related) wierdness. But now I must be off to do post elsewhere I might be back for more, though, so beware!

Maybe I should just stay away from this thread as far as it is humanly possible

Nahh...

~~ I was raised by men, therefore think like a man, but act like a complete feminist. Don't be fooled by appearance

~~ I love traveling and moving - cannot cope with settling down in one place.

~~ I hate playing video games because I throw the biggest fit when I lose and curse out the machine, but I have a lot of fun watching others play them.

~~ I believe crossbreeds did exist in Middle-earth besides Elf/Human.

~~ When I was eleven I gave all of my 39 Barbie dolls first and last names. I still remember them.

I may think up more later...

No, you'll leave us to figure it out for ourselves, will you? Evil wayfarersss . . .gollum! Hmmm . . . then again, gollum, not hard a tassk, no, not hard at all! J/k

Also, everybody tells me I'm weird because I don't eat lunch . . . I skip it at least 90% of the time, and I would skip it more if I had my way.

But you know what's really weird? The word weird. Is it spelled wierd or weird or wired or what??? It can really baffle a person, sometimes, and then they go insane! Like me . . . ;P

The pressue can literally suck the building in when a swinging door is opened. It happens occasionally in my area when a lot of heavy snow is on the top of buildings and they are weak anyway.

I did that too!!!!! Except I had (well actually, I still have them, they're all just in boxes in a closet somewhere) like 100 of them. It got kinda confusing at times with so many of them, so I gave some of them new names!! Muwhahahahaha!!
