im pretty sure the minstrals would become orc food quite fast, with no weapons and training, id stay in the citys till i couls fight then travel only in groups im not stupid i want to live

Ah, but Tolkien hated explosives. The orcs used explosives of some sort to blast into Helm's Deep, and Tolkien called it "devilry of Saruman." And in the Scouring of the Shire, modern technology was depicted as unnatural and bad. The Professor was quite conservative.

Still, good intentions. I'm sure Gondor would welcome you at Pelennor Fields!

I would keep telling everyone what will happen next but not the whole story. I would become a seer! Heheh...even earn some cash and make sure I am always one step ahead of where the big part of the fellowship is.
And the most important question that they may ask: What will happen to middle earth? I'd ask them to promise me a place in Cirdan's ship. I'd also promise to give away all my hard-earned cash to those people (including hobbits) whose lives have been ruined by the war just before going onboard.

I think that I would inform Gandalf to bewary of saruman and that the Bilbo has THE ring. and use the eagles to drop the ring into mount doom.

what else did i forgot to add. there would be a rebirth of sorts and the elves would fade (at least while you were there)

You could stay for ten years before the space time continum pulled you back to earth one second after you left you could bring a companion back but only one

Sounds like a great plan, Arathorn! I wonder what the Tibetan Buddhists would do with The One Ring.

If I landed in ME, I would follow the elves around until they got really sick of me. . .I'd also probably tell little bits of the story, enough for them to think of me as a seer, but not enough to mess up the plot too much. Then I'd go live in Fangorn, if Treebeard lets me!

the key is sauron could not be destroyed with out the ring eing destroyed
he almost took over me with out haveing the ring if given the time he could have done it there were no 2 ways about it th ring had to be destroyed

On second thought... I would give gollum directions to hobbiton... have him steak the ring from the envelope bilbo left it in, then knock him out and throw HIM into the fire.
