Here's a new one:

From north to south they heard me call,
Heralding my master's fall.
Anguish devoured my home land,
Until I came into their hand
Unveiling the truth to all.

here are repostings of the unsolved riddles:

1)
Between fire and time it lay unseen.
Lying in dust and balanced on beam.

2)
When Middle Earth is under night,
there is a place where it is bright,
and folk can see to their delight
since they possess the liquid light.

No. The answer is not something as significant as the ring. In fact, the answer is rather obscure. It refers to a particular incident.

Here is a clue concerning the incident which in turn can lead you to what lies on the beam:

A chore left undone
caused one to run.

as a further clue, 3 out of the first 4 riddles i have composed since my return to entmoot all draw from the same source.

editors note: the riddle is included as one of the three....

Could the second one be the Dead Marshes and the light could be their candles.

That is an answer that i had not considered and it is a form of liquid light I suppose. I will give you honorable mention for it, but there is yet another form of liquid light out there. Please guess again.

well dang! there is liquid light all over the place. Another one i had not considered, but it did use water from G's fountain. So, another honorable mention is in order and i will now change my riddle to a challenge.....
Just how many varieties of liquid light are really out there? (just kidding). I will hold out until someone comes up with the liquid light i am thinking of.....

Good guess RTB, however the Wells are in Aman not in M.E. So even though that is liquid light, I am looking for good 'ol middle earth liquid light.

Hah! Those clues you later gave helped me on the first... the note that Thorin left for Bilbo on his mantlepiece? (EDIT: on the mantle, by the clock - 'between fire and time' - lying in dust - Bilbo hadn't dusted his mantle yet!)

The second... I'm thinking lava... but there weren't really 'folk' living inside of Mount Doom or anything...

yes! thanx for taking the time to reason it out. I knew that i would have to give clues on that one since it was so obscure. I thought maybe one of you might figure it out from the other riddles since they all came from the first chapter of The Hobbit. Also, it was more than a mere note. I believe that the dwarves held it to be a legal contract for Bilbo's services.

On the second, i don't believe that anyone would experience much "delight" if they had to live on Mt. Doom....whether it was lighted or not. Still, as we delve into this subject i suppose that lava could also be construed as a form of "liquid light". Yet it is not the liquid light I am thinking of.

I didn't either, unless I looked at it strictly as 'seeing to their delight'
