Entering A New World

OOC: Okiliday! I do believe someone is hyper...*cough*Earloth*cough* Anydangway, shall we?

A young hobbit walked along the dirt path to the river, thinking that his cousin might be there. He was of course a Brandybuck, and therefore most likely found his way to water. He, unlike most other hobbits, could swim a bit. He had tried to teach Pippin, though that didn't turn out to swell. He chuckled just at the memory of his 'swimming' experience. More so of a drowning experience, though he was indeed faking it. The water was only knee deep(which is quite shallow actually) and therefore, he was perfectly fine. Merry nearly had a heart attack when Pippin didn't return to the surface after a few seconds, but surprisingly, the young hobbit could hold his breath for quite some time!
His dark eyes held a glint of mischeif as he spotted a young lass whom Merry had been spending quite some time with lately, walking along the same path. "Going to see my cousin are you?" asked the hobbit coming up behind her rather abruptly.

Yes! Wooo! Hyper! i don't know what to post now. alack. hm...

ic; Estella turned and grinned at the hobbit behind her. "Perhaps," she said, a slow grin spreading across her face; "I could ask you the same question: would you come this close to the water without him?" She poked her tongue out playfully as Pippin poked her in the ribs sarcastically.

They walked some of the way further, until the hill that bordered the bank of the Brandywine came into view

ooc: Welcome to the moot, Entling! Now someone that's actually younger than me. I was beginning to feel out of place.

How 'bout this:
Name: Paladin (got that from KSURF radio theater) Boffin
Occupation: CEO of wandering everywhere.
House: lives out of backpack, wagon, tent
Animals: small rat that sits on his shoulder, dog, mule, oliphaunt (the latter keeps as far from other hobbits as possible)
Friends: strange dwarf that also wanders in the woods, but without tools, tents, nothing but his clothes, rusty mail underneath a coat of mithril, and his axe.
Next stop: Hobbiton

"I can swim just fine, thank you very much." Pippin protested indignantly, though he knew that was only half-way true. He looked out at the banks of the river, knowing that Merry could not be kept inside on a day like this, and therefore would most likely be near or in the river. He smiled when he finally spotted his cousin, along with some one else. Two people, big folk at that. Pippin stopped momentarily, recognizing one of them all too well. But the other, he had no idea. Slowly, yet surely, the hobbit made his way towards his cousin, not taking his eyes from the wizard.

"Eh? What was that?" Paladin Boffin awoke with a start to see his rat running off, his dog looking intently, ready to run, and his mule's ears pointing up. He got up, grabbed his bow and arrows, and walked toward where everything seemed focused. He peered through some bushes, and an saw three hobbits, two walking toward the other, who was already standing by the river with one of the big people. Both were looking at another man. One Paladin knew to be his old friend, Gandalf the wizard, who was smoking a pipe. He would have gone out, but he still wasn't sure whether he would be welcome by the wizard.

ooc. Does anyone mind if I come in here? If not, I'm off to the Green Dragon.

ooc: Hallo TB! ^^ I don't care if you join (I actually want you to :P), but that's not my call. Oh well... ^^

ic: Merry heard voices (don't we all) behind him, and spun around quickly. He saw his best friend, Peregrin Took, and... oh no. Esmerelda Bolger, that dratted Hobbit lass that he liked and didn't. He had mixed feelings when it came to Miss Bolger. It sort of freaked the young Hobbit out at first, when he found out the Esmerelda liked him, but over time (and much to his chagrin), he found that he might like her as well.

"H-hullo Pippin, Esmerelda," he said. "Uh, do you know who that person over by Gandalf is? I think she's deaf."

ooc: I hope you don't mind, Earloth. I'm gonna squeeze all the possible angst out of it, 'cuz I want to at the moment. Oh well. HYPERNESS! ^_______^

Ok. Just wanted to know if it was all right coming into the scene.

ic. Paladin watched as the other two hobbits coming in were greeted by the first. Everyone seemed scared of the wizard while interested in the stranger.
Paladin bent down to pick up his rat, which had returned, and decided to walk out.
"Hello Mr. Gandalf, hello--uh--who are you?" Paladin said, " And you?"

Pippin grinned, noticing Merry's nervousness around Estella. "Hullo Merry," he said, returning the greeting. He then looked over to the stranger, "Um, no. I can't say I do." he replied. "You really think she's deaf?" Curiousity was telling the young hobbit to go over and see, but he wasn't sure what kind of mood the wizard was in today.

Paladin, wondering at the stranger, who seemed to ignore his greeting, decided to just stand away and watch to see what would happen. Even his friend, Gandalf, seemed too interested to heed him. There was an air of curiosity around everyone.

ic; Estella frowned and crept slowly towards the outlander sitting on the bank. "Excuse me?" she said apprehensively. The stranger's head turned slowly, and Estella backed clumsily away to Gandalf's side. "Excuse me," she repeated, "but, who are you?"

ooc: Aw, I sorry. I despise angst as well. I don't know what came over me. I probably didn't get my cheese that day... -sigh- And anywho, that's Entling's character, not mine! I'm Merry, silly! ^^

ic: "I really think so," Merry replied. "I mean, I tried to talk to her, but she didn't say anything. Didn't even act like she heard me."

He watched with an intent curiosity as Estella () went over to the stranger. "See?" he told Pippin, when the stranger still didn't respond.

"So that one's name is Merry," Paladin thought. "And that's Pippin. They are somehow acquainted. And the lass is named Estella. Well, I hope whoever that is answers, or maybe the old hobbit-lad () is right. Maybe she is deaf. I hope she answers quicker, I havn't even eaten first breakfast yet.

OOC: No, no. I meant that as a joke, or more like a mistake in speech on Paladin's part. I meant it to be taken as "this old hobbit-lad" rather than this old hobbit-lad.

Pippin nodded, "Yep looks like you are right." he said, looking at the stranger. "I'd go ask her, but I'm not yet sure if the whole beard incident with Gandalf has worn off yet." he added with a slight shudder. He didn't mean to cut off half of his beard! It just sort of happened...that was about three or so years ago too. But Pippin didn't really feel like trying his luck.
