I'm High Red, one belt away from Black, but I don't know if I'll ever make Black. I'm not good at running.

I can't scold you as I'd normally be inclined, what with my own inexusable dissappearance from Entmoot.
My Sensei is telling me to go to Rutgers New Brunswick, and that way I can stay close to the dojo. I'm still sorting my priorities in picking a college. I really don't want to just stop after reaching 3rd kyu, but it looks like I'll have to.

I would like top respond to the "spam thread" accusation. this is not a spam thread. I would like people to stay on course howeverif you go off course no one is allowed to yell or scream or make angry at you. But try to stay the course. I want to grab a dual major at the University of Edinborough in poli/sci and directing.

I'm half dutch, half kiwi. The kiwi half is a mongrel, and I've got bits of everything there from all over europe. The dutch half also comes with a strain of asian (I'm a sixteenth of something that used to be Siam), and I'm descended from Polish royalty (a blacksheep of course). My mother's side (the kiwi side) was middle-class, and my dad's side before the war were stinking rich.

Nice to see you BoP, I thought you were around, but wasn't sure, since you're on invisible... Polish royalty... that's really neat. My Scottish side is mostly Cameron and Sinclair, I think... Family legend says I'm descended from Scottish royalty. Though that would hardly matter anymore...

Yes, yes, it is important for me to remain invisible so I can swoop down on unsuspecting individuals, and snaffle up their pants...
We dutchies rule. More than everyone else. <edit>Argh, nevermind... me just being blind 'n blonde....

*Elemmire quickly runs to her closet to find her favourite skirt...* Yes. Dutchies do rule. You know what's really annoying? My last name should be Dutch, but because my step-great-great grandfather decided that his own last name would be easier for his new wife's kids, I got stuck with a name I can't stand. Oh well. As soon as I get around to it, I'll legally change my name to my mother's Scottish maiden name... *Elemmire can't find skirt amidst all the clothes sitting haphazardly on shelves in the closet* Erm... you were saying?

I'm leaving this thread open because it's been a while ago that we had a thread to get to know each other better. But I strongly advise you all to stay on the topic at hand and not stray off it. There seems to be too much off-topic conversations on the Entmoot as it is. If you simply want to chat, go to the Teacup Cafe.

Well, I HAVE a dutch name, but it's been bastardised. We no longer pronounce it the way it should be pronounced cos people have too hard a time pronouncing it.

That happens to Americans too. When I worked for American Express (customer service), every now and then someone would call in with a French last name. But they would pronounce it in an anglacized way - probably after several generations of hearing it mangled. But I really wanted to say their names the French way. I hate it when people mis-pronounce my last name, except since I've come to Sweden I've become much more lenient about it. But Canadians should be able to pronounce it.
LOL Elemmire. You could always change your name back! Nothing stops you bwahaha. I know some Dutch people, they have very cool names. One of my friends made me practice his name until I got it right, but I'm glad. It just seems wrong to not be able to say your friend's name right, and now I can do it perfectly! Hey Haradrim, was a discussion of names along the lines of your census? I don't want to mess up your thread.

I'm of Chinese descent and my parents were born in Cambodia, so I have no technical 'Cambodian blood' which is why I'm fair for a Cambo. I was born in Australia, and because of my background I've grown up with two different Chinese dialects and Cambodian (Khmer) spoken in my home.

hi all, most of you should know me by now, but here is the lowdown on me:
I am Chrys, an 18 year old, gay, male A-Level student, from the South-West of England. I follow the principles of the Buddhist faith, though I smoke and drink far too much. I am of English and Irish descent, with a bit of Scottish and Welsh thrown in for good measure, although my English side actually descends from the d'Orsonne family of Normandy, which after the Norman invasion became anglicized as Dawson, not to be confused with the Dawson that is an Anglo-Saxon name, meaning Son of David (Davis, Davies, Davison etc). I am currently studying Archaeology, Sociology, History, Classical Civilisation and Current Affairs, and my political affiliations are green, and Leftward-leaning Centrist. Anybody who knows me well enough will testify that I have two main types of post, the thoughtfull, intelligent Chrys, and the mad rambling Chrys. I think that is enough for now, eh? |

I'm 15, live in Norway, which is pretty cold right now.
I'm of Norwegian descent, completely, as far as I know. my grandfathers brother moved to America in the early 1900, so I have some relatives in Wisconsin.
