It was Ecthelion of the Fountain and I think they used swords since the elves of the Chalice/Cup(I forgot) used the bows, a different one used the hammers/maces, but they might have been using axes. I forgot which of the HoMe books this one is from. Is it the Lost Road? I keep on meaning to read that again. It isn't really consistent with the rest of Tolkien though since people were killing MASSIVE numbers of Balrogs, Ecthelion 3, Tuor 5(or the other way around), and the guy with the hammer took out a couple too.

Gurthang/Mormegil, made by Eol in Gondolin out of ? some black iron, I think meteoric or something that Eol created, I don't remember which.

Gurthang was still the sword Anglechel. Its name was changed to Gurthang after it was reforged for Turin in Nargothrond. I can not recall off hand the name of the other sword. You are correct about the meteoric metal. It also has a name that I can't recall. I will try to find out these names and post them later.

Ok. The name of the sword was Anguriel, and I believe the name of the metal was galvorn. Not 100% sure on that one. And, they were of course made by Eol.

Rog..he lead a charge with a host of the stricken anvil and the hammer of wrath and they all died but it says "a great deed was that sally, as the Noldoli sing yet, and many of the orcs were borne backward into the fires below; but the men of Rog.....came at those Balrogs andf smote them greviously" goes on saying ' and the number of balrogs that perished was a marvel and dread to the hosts of Melko, for ere that day never had any of the Balrogs been slain by the hand of Elves or Men."
rog himself used a mace, the people of the fountain used swords, aye. Got it from the book of lost tales 2.. i found in many places it differed from other books but i had forgot about that

Not galvorn. Galvorn was created by Eol but he made Anguirel and Aglachel from meteoritic metal.

Next question, according to the Silmarillion, how was Celeborn related to Thingol (Elwe)?

It's StrawberryIceCream's turn to ask a question, Finrod.

I'm going to do a relatively easy one:

What was the name of Meriadoc's horse on which he rode with Theoden?
