Oh, Lotesse, I am most impressed with your post. Excellent character info.

I agree it is high time for character bios. Let us discuss the others.

The Witch-King / the Morgul Lord

Nice touch, BB.
But, as I am supposed to know Wikkie better than any of you, I would add some points.

I think Lotesse's description fits Wikkie rather well, at least on the surface:
Quote:

Bravo, Lotesse!!!!

But, though Wikkie is certainly devilishly good-looking and egotistic, he is not so simple as that generic image. He has no fiery intensity of Feanor, no stupid fearlessness and pigheadedness. Instead, he is a cold calculating soul, very clever, very learned and artistic, a grand-scale player always several moves in advance of the others. He always avoids confrontation if he is not sure of the victory. But when he is sure, he doesn't hesitate.

He is not at all romantic, incapable of love, and uses others as he sees fit (wraithgirls included) . He is a professional King and is simply used to be his own master and the head of everything around. He wears a mask of a careless playboy at times, but only when it suits him. The same is with his famous fits of rage. He always looks for the effect it has on others, but keeps his head cold in reality.

Don't forget he is also the only really powerful sorcerer of the Nine. Good in Long-Distance Telekinesis.
With that, he is nostalgic for his lost kingdoms of Numenor and Angmar. That is his soft spot.
And, as we know, Wikkie is much nicer when drunk.

Do you agree with me, guys and girls?

Now about Gordis.

Gordis is a noble numenorean woman, tall and shapely. She has classic numenorean features, long black hair and formerly had grey eyes (now they are either pale silver, or red with emotion, as are the eyes of all the ringwraiths). She loves classic-style dresses, (which Lily considers too Second-Age), jewelry (thanks again for the earrings, Vivvie!) and all things beautiful. Her main interest is black magic. Here lies one of the reasons for her ages-long crash on Wikkie. Wikkie has taught her himself, and she was a devoted pupil. Though she has never approached the WK's level of magic, she is still better then the other 7. She is not a good fighter, never liked weapons and such like, so in a battle she mostly stays behind or relays on magic. Gor is learned, loves books and compu-tir chat. She hates silly pranks and appears very serious, quiet and withdrawn.

She is the only one of the Nine who stayed with Wikkie in Angmar, being the headmistress of the Angmar Royal School for Witchcraft and Sorcery for Gifted Young Girls (ARSWSGYG). That period might have somewhat affected her personality: often she has nagging schoolteacher reflexes. Gor has Angmar-period nostalgia, like Wikkie.

As you already know, she loves Wikkie, who plays with her like a cat with a mouse.

Is it OK?

Now, CS and TD, your turn to provide info on Lily and Khamul.

Khamul The Shadow of the East (Lord of Dol Guldur since TA 2951) is a Variag from Khand. Swarthy and dark-eyed, I think. Please, elaborate, TD.

And we have Goth (here we should, perhaps, wait for LCOU?) He is too complicated for me. Is he crazy?

Five and Eight we can do together.

Five is from Rhovanion, so maybe kin to Rohirrim, with golden hair and formerly blue eyes. He loves silly pranks (may be a good buddy for Viv?). He is a fierce fighter and loves horses.

Eight is an oriental Doctor from Harad, therefore black-haired and black-eyed. He is a healer and the best torturer among the Nine. Unlike Lily , he uses traditional torture methods. He is a colleague of Radagast, working on different biological projects like FellBeast and Mirkwood spider. Must know a lot about beasts.

All of you feel free to give your suggestions on any of the characters! We must work on them together.

Again, thanks again, Lotesse, for your excellent post! BB, GW, please add your comments!

When all is settled I can edit one of the messages in the beginning of the main thread and place all the info in. I think it would be helpful for readers. And we have more than 1500 hits already!!!

Lotesse: just laying some emotional ground rules heh?

Great post, yes we should perhaps flesh out ( IF it were appropriate)
characters.

Lotesse:
Quote:
... unpredictability and extreme fearlessness, and she really has a thing for emotionally complex geniuses oozing fiery intensity and irrational rage ...
heh! that's me!

maybe not a full-on genius of course!

My! that's a hard act to follow .... i feel sorry for poor GW trying to live up to all that! ..

Gordis:
Quote:
But, as I am supposed to know Wikkie better than any of you, I would add some points.

better than me? NOT if i play Wikkie!

Unless of course anyone else wants to claim him?

If so, let the battle commence ... last one standing wins!

.. i coldly and fearlessly await the challenge.

if there is no challenge .. then i see wikkie as a mix between Gor's astute general tactican and King of high and ancient lineage and some of Lotesse's 'fiery intensity' ... a complex character like Wikkie can be both as he sees fit, and as the need or mood takes him.

though i agree with Gor that Wikkie is primarily calculating and judges things to a nicety, he can also when he wishes be both fiery and pig-headed ... just in his case not at the expense of making a coldy calculating decision.

Else his character will not reflect my own nor be fun to play, or rpg with ...

Lotesse; excllent charcater Bio, Gor: it's good indeed but most of which we knew already ... could you flesh out the wraith a tad more with some foibles and emotional character info too? We all have a lot of depth to portray to reach Lotesse's opening gambit.

GW:
Quote:
Me not being a very good writer ie not particularly imaginative I don't know if I can be the kind of rpg'er you want. I've always had difficulty making up dialogue (probably comes from the fact that English is not my native language), which is essentially (not so much furthering the story as posting intelligent Morish remarks), what you're asking. But I'll give it my best shot. I promise though no more *pant, pant*-sequences.
I disagree GW, if may be so bold, i have found your writing skills to be sharpening fast and there is more and more creativity in it, seriously.

I'm not sure Viv is barring any *pant, pant*-sequences at all. She's just setting a very high RPG standard for you to stimulate and arouse her.

Nothing like a challenge eh
?

I'm sure you will rise to it.

... and if our burgular is getting too catty ... i'm sure wikkie can telekenis a wraith-world cat o' nine ...

How about we give Olmer an (honoury) part as Sauron?

What say you wraiths - should we bestow the rank of Honoury Wraith upon OLMER?

Best BB

PS .. just read the rpg thread .. TD adds to the drama well - should really be VIV to post next .. but we can't and shouldn't stop people posting ... absolutely NOT .. perhaps therefore whoever posts next ... we could leave something like a "VIV looked at him closely .. narrow eyed and .... " (etc) and leave it blank a bit and then Lotesse can use the discussion to post what she wants putting there to who-ever posted and they can edit it in?

Oww, character infos!

I think as Wikkie is the most important guy here, all of us have the right to discuss him! And I disagree you know him better than me, Gor! (Lily takes her knife out and licks the blade).

Loved your piece, Gor. I think you captured Wikkie's personality quite well. BB is also right in part. WK is really complex.

You should not try to make Wikkie too fierce and pigheaded, BB! He will lose Gor's love and possibly acquire Viv's. That will ruin the plot.
Gordi loves her men clever and cool, Viv loves them fierce and crazy. And Lily loves them to be Kings!

And I loved your info on Gor the quiet witch-headmistress. Cool!

I think you know all about Lily. She is a fierce straightforward girl, wanton and impudent, wants to become a queen...Likes handsome men (and elves ). Good fighter. Often jealous when other gals steal her men (and she thinks she owns all the six (including 5 and 8). Not too smart. Often gross. Green eyes, red lips, blonde hair in a pony-tail (blonde rules!). BIG sword. Not a lot of clothes. All the attributes of a trooper-kind femme fatale. Need more?

well, sure CS, as i see it it's an open and inclusive rpg: we all have the right to discuss all characters.

CS:

or really make the plot hum along in a lively fashion?

I think it's a heady mix of both with in the main Gor's version but with some elements of lotesses' ... else Wikkie will be both dull, not in character (in a very real sense) and very hard to play... the WK of old Angmar town (and Kingdom) cannot be portrayed in a RPG if he is only calculating ... he will need to some extent be both fiery and have other characterisistics too ... or he will not be beleivable.

The point is he should be at core a general, a king, and calculating ultimately .. but to personify this as a character he will CANON have to be in person and in varipus rpg situations both sometimes FIERY and pig-headed ...else how can he be who he is?

In the same sense i trust you guys to portray your characters i have to ask you to trust me to portray mine ... in some ways i feel a good rpg is only as good as it's dicussion forum - because it is here that we make the rpg both work, and add to it and really enthuse people to make it the best it can be!

Lotesse has really led the way recently with her character bio .. as have you all in different ways ... i can honestly say if we keep it up this will really be an rpg to go in the archives! But that depends on having this sense of wraith-community and having fun discussing here what will make our RPG better in the actual RPG thread ... don't get me wrong Gor's biog was good ... i'd just like Gor, who we know can write both accurate and entertaining posts to add a little more ... we all have been challenged in the best way .... we should all strive to match lotesse's biog.

... also i think CS ... Gor was being somewhat tongue not in cheek with her post about knowing Wikkie better than others .... i took it to mean from the recent legendary party-night events in the RPG!

green eyes heh CS? ... my favourite!

The fun of rpg is that characters played by real characters can interact far beyond the ken and restraints of everyday life ... ... let's be careful to not put down too many restictions....

Liked your brief biog CS such as it was ... no offence ... but we all need to go that extra mile to make it really good ... hell! why not? all the more enjoyment for all involved!

let's really crank it up ... with no pressure though ... hey! it's still friendly and inclusive, i just mean if we can why not?

if not .. hey, no problem at all ... seriously ... so don't get screaming at me CS .. if only because i have had such a fuc*** confrontational day today i really wouldn't welcome it ... and anyway it wasn't meant in any negative way ... truly just a positive aspirational way, y'know?

best all
BB

Nope, he has one with ruby (fire-Narya). Gal has adamant (water-Nenya),El has Vilya (blue)

I can never equal Lotesse with her bio, I simply can't write that fluently. If you want more, ask me questions.
And BB, why are you so laconic in the main thread? We need more! Let Wikkie talk!

Because I write a foreign language, BB. I make much more typing mistakes than that, I assure you. But that one my Word speller is unable to pinpoint.

Gollum

Hi all my Fellowship friends, I had to get online tonite to let you all know that I haven't forgotten our story, it's just that I'm absolutely swamped with a huge, multi-faceted real-life crisis right now, which demands all my time and mental energy and drains me like crazy. But, expect me back in the game posting normally by the first week of August, at which time I will at least finally have gotten moved into my new house.

I am so relieved that you all liked my ideas and descriptions so much, especially Gordis, all the encouraging and excited feedback that you gave me made me feel SO DAMN GOOD.

Unfortunately I've gotta sign off for now, but I'll see you guys tomorrow evening L.A. time, I'll contribute what I'm able to whenever I can, but in the meantime - Gordis, would you like to be Viv's babysitter in my absence? She explicitly requested you, and I hate arguing with her - that temper! I won't be gone that long.

...er (lazy hat on) where are we exactly .... who's reading the map? when do we get supersonic? what day is it? (all out of character of course!)

As you can see we have got it together! ... course we may end up wandering off the trial a bit ... sudden dashes to Umbar or a wrong turning via the Lonely Mountain etc

Well god knows what you will come back to ... but have a good holiday!

Going anywhere nice?

Sorry, Lotesse, you have to find another baby-sitter for Viv, I will be off since Monday. I am going to a friend's cottage on an island in Finland, it seems there is no web connection there, or so I think.

Last hints. We are heading to Gundabad along the West bank of Anduin. Here is a nice Middle Earth map for you.
http://www.councilofelrond.com/map.php

Now is about August 1, 3018. We ride North for 2-3 weeks passing near Carrock. Will we meat Beorn and ask him about the Shire?
Then North to Gundabad. It used to be in Angmar. Possible nostalgic thoughts of Wikkie and Gor. Skiing? Tumble in the snow?? Whatever...

At about August 20, we should head back, again passing between the Mountains and Lorien (possible confrontation with the angry Galadriel and the love-sick Haldir?)

And on Sept. 15 we come to the Field of Cormallen and meet with messengers from Sau (Will it be the Mouth himself?) conveying threats.

Then the Second part begins :Supersonic stallions. We go talk with Saruman,Grima etc.

Off you go with my blessing.

We shall miss you, Gor! Have a nice summer!

Hope you will be back soon, Lotesse.
Also hope the guys will not run away from the single remaining girl.

BTW, BB, I am glad you liked my green eyes. How do you like red hair? I have had a second thought, perhaps I am a redhead…

And what say ye, GW, on these important matters?

you can't miss it mate..... famous last words of anyone ever giving directions ... luckily both me and wikkie are very good at getting places (with the exception of this Shire place of course )

well don't scare the Fins and don't do anything CS wouldn't! Enjoy your hols!

Great post, BB, you start to sound like Wikkie.

"There and back again" is a good title for the Second Part of the "Fellowship"

Strawberries and Cream (before we met Khamul)
There and Back again
Supersonic stallions

Thanks for your directions. I shall try to follow them.

Actually I am leaving the Moot quite mad and disgusted... You know what I was called right now? "smug lil' shite".
Never met anyone here THAT rude.

I will be off. Back August 15.

Greetings once again to all the remaining wraiths,
Gor
