Close, but not quite what I am looking for as the answer.

(I should have regular access to the Internet now.)

If I do not hear an answer to my question by Tomorrow (Friday 21 July 2006), I will give the answer and let someone else choose another question.

What was missing from the Western Gate to Moria?

Spock was in the correct neighborhood, but did not have the answer that I was looking for.

Actually you only got the first part correct. Try for the second part of the question.

Correct.

Hopefully more people will arive with their own trivia to add.

=================================================
Law of Cosine

For a triangle with sides a,b, and c and the angle µ opposite the side c, one has

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab·cos(µ)

or

(c*c) = (a*a) + (b*b) - 2ab·cos(µ)
