I want to adopt too, but... WHERE I LIVE, YOU CAN'T ADOPT CHILDREN WITHOUT A SPOUSE!!!!!!! It drives me nuts!

Well, hullo everyone. As you can see, I don't hang out here muchly anymore. There's a good reason for this. Y'see, I've been hanging out at a different chatboard called Cardboardia. So far, I've been havin' a blast. Not that I don't love the TLA, but the magic of Entmoot is lost on me. So, as soon as TLA ends, so will my existance here, probably.

Who knows though? I might stay. Highly unlikely however. This is a good bye in advance, then. Unless you want to join me and my group of friends at Cardboardia.

Cheers!

I like the names Arwen and Galadriel . I might have the middle name of my kid Galadriel if a have a girl when I grow up. Arwen might make an okay first name.

Something is deeply wrong with our society if we're actively encouraged to ignore the parent-less kids out there, and produce our own brats. If I ever have kids - and I don't plan on it - I'm definately adopting a refugee!

I agree with you. I have 2 bio kids and 2 adopted,. and they are not named Elanor and Eomer, more's the pity, they came with their own names. I wasn't saying you should have kids instead of adopting, I was just saying it's nice to have kids. To read the LotR to them.

The world is not overpopulated. The resources are just very badly distributed due to greed, corrupt governments, and ignorance. (just a comment; we can't get off topic, I know.)

You've failed, Eruviel But the world is indeed overpopulated and resources are badly distribuated just as well.

There's nothing wrong with not wanting kids. But there's nothing wrong with wanting kids either. Maternal instincts are hard to ignore. I don't know wether I'll end up with kids or not, but naming them with Tolkiennames would be nice, but we'll see. Too bad middle names are no tradition here. Emerwen is still my favorite, though.

I'd love to name one of my eventual children after Frodo, but that could possibly lead to future personality probs.....

I would also like to name my kids after Sam, Merry, or maybe have Pippin, Arwen, Eowen, or Legolas perhaps.....
It could cause a few looks if my kids went around telling people that their names were Frodo, Aragorn, Smaug....etc......

hmmmmmm...

I allways thought that i would name my first child (if it was a girl) Anna, so maybe her middle name will be Elanor!

If I had a boy, it would be Samwise or Sam, its middle name would be Aragorn, and if i had another boy it would be Mithrander, and i dont know about the middle name!

I might consider something like a series of father- sons names, like aragorns father and his father..., i have to look it up in the books!

Yeah, that's right. Consign her to a life of being called Anna Banana!

The boy: Frodo. The girl: Estel. Although Frodo seems a bit obvious, don't you think?

I would definately name my kids and pets lotr names.
boys: Aragorn Isildur or Legolas Elrond
girls: Arwen Galadriel or Eowyn Elendil (though Elendil is a boy it still has a bit of a feminen touch)

Has anyone here read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman? There's a girl in it who's mother named her 'Pippin Galadriel Moonchild.' Poor kid.

i would like my first or my middle name to be after lord of the rings, but not both, and it would have to be normal, not like gandalf, arwen, galadreil, or allrond, and definatly, non of the ents names! that would just be plane scary if my name was treebeard!
