The problem with me is, that I like every single creature in Middle-earth. But if I made a choice, I think I choose the Istari. And on the second place the ents.

Either the elves or the hobbits - I love them both. I wish that I was an enf but I like the hobbit's way of life much more (6 meals a day!).

I noticed all my favourite races start with E: Eagles, Ents, and Elves!

Am I the only one who likes the Eagles?

Actually, hobbits, elves, and orcs can all be considered human races. So can dwarves, I think.

I'm going have to say Hobbits. They're very out of the way and people don't know much about them. What really sparked my interest was Gandalf's line, "Hobbits really are amazing creatures, as I have said before. You can learn all that that there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you in a pinch." I totally agree with that. They're very multi-fauceted and in some ways very human, but in other ways very much better than a human.

Hmm? What do you mean by that? Hobbits are descended from Men, and I've heard that Tolkien's last thoughts on the matter had Orcs as descendents of Men, but Elves? And Dwarves as well; they weren't even created by the same being!

Maybe what you meant was humanoid. But everyone in Middle-earth except Wargs, Giant Eagles, and animals were humanoid, and that doesn't make them human.

perhaps he meant that they're all aspects of human nature.

Interesting Eruviel...

Of course, humans are so diverse, that every race, even Orcs, has some aspect of human nature.

Then why does he only "think" about Dwarves.

Grr, you say something confusing, then run off and leave us to try and heads and tails of it!
