I believe that one of the rules that SGH set down was that this topic could not exceed 100 pages. It is now on page 102. I will close this topic and no other worders will be started until I get a chance to talk to SGH and see if I was mistaken.

Be thankful that when you did not compile the story after 5 pages, she still let you continue until you finally did.

I thought it was a stupid idea to only compile what occurred in those 5 pages only and not the whole story. That way people would have forgotten what had happened in the story and it wouldn’t make much sense. But oh well.

The reason for this topic only going to page 100 is that otherwise it would be endless. It would go on forever and then it would only be spam. No one would know the original story and it would go way way off from where it started.

I realize that the story may not be yet finished. I will allow one final compilation. The whole story must be compiled. Whoever does this, put an ending on it. No more posts to this story will be allowed.

Another three worder will be allowed, but under different rules.

We understand the fun behind a silly story, but we are having something of a disk space crisis and so totally pointless posts are viewed somewhat negatively . If the story isn't constantly put together, new people joining in will just be adding 3 random words, and the thread could go on forever. We do support a fun collective story, but we can't support a slapdash, endless bunch of random words. I'm sorry it has to be this way, but we are running very low on space, and 3 worders are notorious for their length.

Here are the new rules:

You MUST compile the WHOLE ENTIRE story every 100 posts. The default setting is 20 posts per page, so this would be every 5 pages if you didn't change anything. Compiling the whole story is simple. One method is just pasting the first one into Word or something and keep adding on to it. If you want to participate in the 3 worder, you don't wait for the same person to compile it - you do it yourself.

Here is how it will go: after 100 posts, the first compilation must occur. Whoever does this must also continue the story with another 3 words. This means that first 100 posts - on post 101 (page 6) the story will be compiled, then 201 (page 11), then 301 (page 16). If you have it set to 20 posts per page, at the beginning of these pages, the story must be compiled: 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, 31, 36, 41, 46, 51, 56, 61, 66, 71, 76, 81, 86, 91, 96, and 101 (on page 101 the story will not be continued, it will be ended. if you see you are near page 100, wrap up the story). The max number of posts allowed will be 2001. the 2001st post will be the compilation of the whole story.

THE MOST IMPORTANT NEW RULE:
There must be a 2 person interval before you are able post again. Example:

This is to avoid having two people with nothing to do going back and forth hundreds of times. We want everyone to have a chance. The in-between people must be actual separate people: we can see if you've just created a new alias.

All posts in the new 3 worder topic must advance the story – otherwise it will throw the system off. These posts will be deleted. You may discuss the story or whatever – as long as you supply your three words first. Also, the story should retain a Middle-earth focus (this is the Middle-earth forum after all).

If you can follow these rules, then we can have a new 3 worder. I think that with a bit more structure, the 3 worder will actually be more fun.

I was away for the weekend and at that time this thread was not at 100 pages. I do not see a problem with Hobbits idea of a bit more structure in the rules. You must understand that lengthy threads can cause problems with the server, so in a thread such as this, we have to have rules against non-sense posts and there must be a limit on page numbers. If you wish to continue the three worders you may under the conditions that Hobbit provided. Closing.
