Of course, how do we know Mace didn't break any rules? Maybe I should stop with those wookie drinks now

I mean, the jedi were extremely few in number in Episodes 1 and 2. And they were weakening. Also, force sensitivity seems to be a dominant trait. Anikin + padme= Luke & Leia. Leia + Hans= Jacen, Jaina & Anikin. etc. So, if every jedi had at least two kids, the order would grow exponentially. And if two jedi reproduced, wouldn't you expect their kids to be stronger than either of them? I.E. mace windu + a female jedi would get you some pretty tough offspring.

That's why things change in the EU. I think under Luke's "management", Jedi can reproduce, but I'm not sure.

Is EXPLICITLY stated that they can nor have offspring in AOTC
or is it like Bop said that they can't get married because it might interfere with their jedi duties I would hope that they could still have sex

Mine is so that I can can decide whether to be Jedi, Rogue Jedi, or Sith... The Jedi, as far as what Anakin told Padme when they were on their way to Naboo, follow priestly tenets while acting as galactic police: Padme: Are you allowed to love? Anakin: Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion, which I would define as unconditional love, is central to a Jedi's life, so you might say we're encouraged to love.

I don't know why (well... actually, I do), but the jedi remind me of the yamabushi of feudal japan.
They live lives of meditation, and are discouraged to have attachments or possessions. Preddy stupid if you ask me.
