[B]Hunted ... have you seen this man?

A small group of previously maligned wraith-like buddies setting out in fellowship of fraternity and freedom are seeking a certain Mr OLMER to join their group! If you have seen or come across this mysteriously absent rpg player Olmer: please either pm him this message or report back here or forward him to this hopefully short-lived thread...

anyone else wishing to apply to join the fellowship of the ringwraiths thread should apply to gordis in the rpg discussion thread: its pretty easy going but you are expected to have read up on some of the relevant threads for background: please ask gordis if you are not sure what these are: i'm sure they can posted in the fellowship rpg discussion thread.

i think the number will be limited to nine, by the way, and there are 2 spots already reserved and some already filled .... there may be some lee-way though.

Sorry to dampen everyone's expectation, but I don't want to commit myself to something which I woun't be able to carry on, besides RPG is not my forte.
Althought, I'm honored to be picked up as an originator of the theme, I think beyond the question all credits should go to gordis.With her creative imagination will be no problem to steer the game in right direction.

as Gordis says you can still do the odd bit if you like, or suggestion in the discussion thread ....

better disband the Nine (minus a few) mooters from their secondary mission ...

I dunno - I imagine we all make initial 'guesses' about each other, which we find we need to constantly revise. Maybes it's just that I've never met a... female nazgul before.

Is that what you are anyway? Where does the name 'gordis' come from?

I saw where you mentioned reading my 'Letters of Firiel' - thanks for the compliment.

I'll have to get going on my other 'projects' involving old Arnor.

I think its cool there are some Femme fatal Nazgul.

Actually doess JRRT actually stipulate the Nine were ALL men? (sees a new thread or splitting of threads event-horizon)

Anyway you'd be more than welcome to post in the fellowship of the ringwraiths.

Forgive my ignorance but what are your 'Letters of Firiel'? I guess i'd like to read them.

Well met then, oh High King of Annuminas! Let me introduce myself… Gordis, a she-nazgul. (Formal bow)

Gordis has the same form as Indis (second wife of Finwe), Erendis (from the UT) and Artanis (father's name of Galadriel- UT).

Gor- means "terror" (Gorgoroth, Gorthaur etc)

As Artanis means "noble woman", so, I believe, Gordis means "terrible woman"

- that would be proper for a nazgul.

Tolkien never stated there were no women ringwraiths. Unfortunately, I believe, he never did because the thought of a she-nazgul never entered his head…

Seriously, I think all the Nine were men.

But in ICE games the seventh nazgul is a woman!
So, why not?

I have posted an explanation of their origin in the "Fellowship of the Ringwraiths":
"When back in the Second Age the Dark Lord distributed the nine rings among Men, he had entirely forgotten the bad habit of human males to give rings as presents to their sweethearts. Thus when a young king of Umbar got a beautiful shiny ring, he immediately presented it to Lily. So here she was now as a wraith, much to Sau's anger and disappointment. Gor and Viv followed suite, making Sau's Nazgul project a 30% failure from the start."

We have 3 women-nazgul in our RPG!
