Post Limits

In "Writers' Workshop" forum, member 'Snowdog' has recently claimed that the limit on posts is 9000 characters, but the limit on edited posts is 8000 characters. Is this the case? If so, can they both be made the same? (preferably the 9000 or higher) He was unable to edit and repost something he had written with edited changes (and there were already posts right after his initial post - so if he divided it up, it would be split).

I guess the question is why it accepted my initial post that was over 8000 words, and when I went to edit to correct some glaring mistakes a couple days later, it wouldn't accept the edit due th the 8000 word limit. I did not use the 'Preview' function on my initial post, but did on the edit. I saved my edited post and used the 'back' browser button to leave my original post unedited. I then tried to post the edited post in a reply it would be good to see the differences, but it wouldn't allow me to post it due to the word limit ( the 8000 word limit came up if I hit either the 'Post' button or the 'Preview' button).

Hope all that made sense.

Yep, it does. Thanks for reporting. I'll look into it later. Gotta leave now

Sorry for the delay.

If you're referring to THIS POST, it had only 7502 characters. I could edit it an add a few more without problems.

Please, try and edit it again. Perhaps you was adding more than 500 characters to your edited post...
