Yeah so if you really want to break some record lay a bot trap. which means something topical (in the news or the pop culture) and more often then not sexual. for example references to "janet jackson" and "boob" were getting tons of hits a couple weeks ago. But I dont think SGH would appreciate you making a thread with line after line of "BOOB" "BOOB" "BOOB" though.

What we could also do for more Tolkienites is ressurect the Books Forum. Someone dig up the Balrogs' Wings question; that always get attention. I'd do it myself, but it's too intimidating. Somebody else post and I'll enter as soon as you're buried in objections.

Which one? There's several of the ill-fated things.

We could make a thread in the books forum..."Who was the biggest BOOB in LoTR?"
The biggest BOOB in LoTR was Bill Ferny. He was a BOOB in the beginning, and a bigger BOOB at the end, in the Shire. He deserves the BOOBY prize.

i don't really want entmoot to get any bigger. the smaller the better! my main problem is the whole clicky groups thing. People chat in their little gangs and ignore everyone else. We need to start including everyone who's here already before we can start recruiting more members. Another problem is that people can get scared to post abou the books for fear of getting their facts wrong and being snubbed by people who know more.

Twista, bots are robots. No, they are not searching for you, they're documenting our site or summat.

There are 1001 threads in the book forum. Are people really afraid of posting their questions? I certainly hope not. It doesn't matter if people remember facts correctly, only that they care enough about Tolkien to post their question in the first place. This shows that they've been thinking about the book - the most important thing.
I hoped no one has ever snubbed you, or made you feel excluded. Why don't you come on over to the Teacup Cafe and we'll have a cuppa together.
