Woow! Elfearz, Justin, great pics! And GW, haven't you posted that tree somewhere else too? I think I remember it. Maybe like two Teacups ago, somewhere?

I second that, visiting around I mean. Really, if someone asked me to come along, anywhere, anywhere I mean, I'd only ask "when do we start?" We need to dream, needn't we? I have two places in mind that I reallyreally would like to see; Australia is one, the Czech (jeez, sp?) Republic the other, esp. Prague. I think I've got more chance for the latter, though.

Indeed I have.

And here's our family's house (in the middle of the street)...

If there is one place i want to go back it's London.

And then i'd like to go to Ireland. And perhaps even Canada.

I've taken a number of slightly better pics of which i have on my computor in town.

Indeed. It's the oldest house in the neighbourhood.
The part furthest from the camera is from the 17th century, and the midpart is the from 18th and the closest from the 19th.

Wow! Well, our house only goes back to my great-grandfather's time. But it makes me & my bro the fourth generation living here, and that is just a... cozy and very homely feeling.

TMI!

I searched my hard drives this afternoon in vain. All of those Boulders Beach pics are gone. Perhaps I'll make a plan to go back there. Need to get my camera fixed first though.

Our family (my great grand father who bought it 1932) has been living there for 73 years. My grandfather bought it from his siblings in 1971. And then my parents bought out my uncles in -97. So it stays in the family.

I can't even begin to imagine what it might be like to not only live in the same town for one's whole life, but the same house, and even have that house in the family for generation after generation. I've been living in a different house and a different town since I was born. Since birth. Never settled. No permanent house, no permanent country, even. I have always really wondered what it must be like, to have stability and family and an identity to attach to like that. Must be nice! Seriously, it must be nice. Just to have the family part would be nice, never mind all that stability and stuff. You guys don't know how fortunate you are, for real.

Well, Lottie, u have condolences for your instabile life.

At first it was our holiday house. Everybody came down for the summers. Í remember a pic of me as three-yearold (michelin man, eat ur heart out) sitting by the pear tree.

Yes; I think I'm just the opposite, I can't begin to imagine what it will be like to move. Because I will move, I think, for a while at least, when sometime in the future I'll have someone to live with, we'll just need our own place for a while, I suppose. That's what my parents did (abovementioned great-grandfather is from my mum's side). But then my grandparents felt that this house would be too big for just the two of them, and at the same time they didn't really want to sell it... then we moved here. I was 7 then; have been living here ever since.

I'll take a picture and post here if I should happen to come by any other fjords in the near future. I live at the outset of one, but I don't think this part of it will look very good on camera.

The house I live in was built in 1913 (IIRC), but we've only lived here the last 10 years or so. I believe I have a picture of it around here somewhere...

Ooooo, show us a fjord photo, Falagar! I would love to see some Norwegian country pictures. Norway has such dramatic landscapes.

While it is unfortunate, IMO it 1) explains a lot and 2) has made you strong.
