That's right. Once you have 500 posts you can request a custom title here. An admin will then do it for you.
You can do this at any time once you have 500 posts. You don't need to change it right away and in fact, you don't need to change it at all! The default is Elf Lord, and there are a few people on the board with loads of post who still rock the Elf Lord title.  I always miss starting the new Teacup thread. Le sigh. Edit: I had made a hugenormous edit about Roman numerals, but since I took so long to write it I cross-posted with a bunch of folks and am now moving it to a new post.
