The Dwarves

I bought and read a relatively new book called the Dwarves. In this book Dwarves are the protectors of the Good lands, protecting the humans and to a certain level the elves from evil creatures from the Bad lands.
The critiques said that the Dwarves are strong characters, reminding of Gimli and I thought the book was quite good. Or at least, it showed us some more of the Dwarves.

At the moment I don't have the book at hand, so I can't tell you who wrote it, but I'll edit this post to include the name if I have it.

Has anyone else read it? What did you think?
