Okay, not being all-knowledged in the SW universe, I turn to those of you who are. Or at least know far more than I.

In Episode I we are informed that Anakin built C-3PO. But how is this possible? C-3PO was built for languages and protocol. How could Anakin possibly have known these, having been a slave on Tatooine all his life? I sincerely doubt there were many visiting Ewoks...

So are we to assume that C-3PO was reprogrammed or something later in his life and was just a... robot droid during his time with Anakin?
