People just don't understand comments such as "Damn! This has got to be what the Helcaraxë was like!" Which can't be quite true in any event... Of course, it's not always wonderful when they do understand you, because then you end up discussing the different characteristics of several Fëanorions...! And usually one particular Finarfinion also... And then you get hit.

Though... that might just be me...

I'd probably welcome that. No one in my school has any knowledge of the Sil or LotR and think that reading them makes me boring.

Nah. Just means that your brain is bigger.

Ugh. Three years ago some girl in some of my classes didn't even realise that LOTR was a book. I was shocked. And she was very lucky I was not as terribly obsessed as I am now.

Actually, a lot of people are lucky because of that. Some of those movie fans would probably be running away upon seeing me if I had been this bad back then...

Nowadays very few people around me don't know Tolkien. And the ones who don't are usually quite open to (and soon trying to read) it.

I haven't converted anyone to Finrodomania yet, though.

I'm a bad influence on sane people.

Very few people around me don't know Tolkien, however even fewer are open to a suggestion about trying to read the book.

Reenacting scenes from the book with LEGOS!

I'm starting work on a Lego version of Barad-dur.

Edit: I've got one! When you force your classmates to call you the Dark Lord, though that could be a bit Star Warsie.

Next time a teacher asks us if we have nicknames, maybe I'll tell him/her to call me Amárië. Hm...

Ideas...

I have a mentally disabled friend who is always on my case about when I played Sauron and tried to take over Middle Earth.

NOTE: Mental disabilities and Lord of the Rings do not mix well.

I do that all the time. It's actually quite amusing when my friends tell me I'm obsessed... because I am! Most of them have only seen the movies, so they all like Pippin. Don't ask me why.

Constantly. For example, I just read the "Familiar" in trolls' bane's post as "Faramir".

Me, I still have trouble with the word "friend".

I usually don't myself, but people who are around me randomly start saying "my precious" and sounding disturbingly like gollum...

I think that might have something to do with favorite characters. lol. I've gotten the impression that yours is Finrod, and mine's definetly Faramir.

I litterally cannot hear the word "mine" without really wanting to say "mine, my own, my preciouss"

Oh gods.

How often now-a-days do you still slip into gollum mode? I am finding that I mearly jerk at the mention of key words.

I am trying to censor myself more often, so if you see me jerk and run into a corner it is because I had a bad thought that needed to go away.
