Depressing Discovery

I was just reading Time Magazine and surfing the web at the same time (something I do a lot) and their main article was on the end of the Universe. Judging from many new tests and the like they now know what were all heading for oblivion (in a trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion . . . you get the idea). Dark energy which acts as a sort of anti-gravity will push everything apart, and eventually all that will remain will be black holes, which too will fall apart (yes dark energy can do that). Then there will be nothing, unless somehow the Big Bang occurs once again.

Re: Depressing Discovery

I hate how people take a theory like the big bang, evolution, or this to be true and utter fact. The amount of research that still needs to be done is astronomical, this is in no way fact

Re: Depressing Discovery

Time said there is still much work to be done on Dark Energy, who knows it maybe could suddenly reverse or just stop, who knows? I was just showing what maybe go down as one of science's greatest discoveries or blunders. Einstein once predicted something like this existed, but then discarded it as his biggest blunder.

"Hey! Let's talk about something...

... that makes us sound smart, yet we'll never have our bluff called on!"

exactly. quite frankly, magazines are insisting every day that the biggest scientific breakthrough just occured, and then when it's proven incorrect they tell you nothing. for instance, there is not a single pre-homosapean skeleton that has not been proven to be false, but you only here about the discoveries!
