the Myst games! are they good!

Hey, I want to get a good game for my little brother for X mes, but not a violent one, and I just found the Myst series, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what there like. Are they one of those slide-show like games and not first-person!

Thanks.
Uncle Merry.

From what I remember, they're pretty complex. Basically, the player runs around an environment solving various puzzles.

Also, the games, especially the most recent, tend to be graphic-heavy, so capable hardware is advised. I assume you're looking for a PC game?

How old is your brother?

Myst is a game of discovering and puzzle solving. Its very difficult, and requires alot of work. Its not violent at all, and there isn't any interaction with any other charachters (as I remember). So if you have a brother whos into thinking and solving theyre perfect. But if he has a.d.d. or something he will hate this game. The game requires lots of dedication and if your not someone who can concentrate it will come off as a very boring game. Hope I helped

On a related note, I bought Uru; Ages Beyond Myst a month ago and it doesn't dissappoint. I have yet to try it out but there is an online feature where puzzles will constantly be added. The graphics are amazing, even when they are not at full strength. The landscsapes and world design is one of the best aspects of this game, along with teh obvious puzzle solving mystery behind it. There is a good (and sad) story that ties everything together too.
