Re: Plans for lining up?

I'm thinking about getting a job as an usher, that way I can watch it for free

Re: Plans for lining up?

I don't think it'll be that bad. I didn't have to wait in line to see TPM and I got first-day tickets anyway

Re: Plans for lining up?

Actually, Tater... the ushers at the midnight show of TPM didn't get to watch it (at least, not where I live)... not even a preview screening.

Re: Plans for lining up?

And the connections you have. I think I'm going to befriend the local movie critics... or the newspaper people who run the advance screening draws...

Hm, I wonder just how nerdy we can get. Is anyone else planning to do something really . . . unique? I have to get ideas, you see.

A fine art, but difficult to execute.

Re: Plans for lining up?

Ok, this topic should be a place to plan and suggest the best ways to go about this. I want all of us to see this movie for free long before the general public!!!

Re: Plans for lining up?

I suppose it's amoral to kill and impersonate someone from the press... We could always go for test screenings, but I'd like to see the finished product for free long before the general public. With the full score intact, and all the FX completed. On the big screen, no less - I don't want some ****py VCD rip on the Internet.

Re: Plans for lining up?

I don't care about seeing it earlier than everyone else, but since my friend's a ticket-seller I can usually reserve tickets for the first day, which is what I did for TPM.

Re: Plans for lining up?

My dad was first in line for TPM where I live. It took a great deal of coercing on my part.

Re: Plans for lining up?

I'm just wondering if my movie passes will work for LOTR, cause I doubt it.

Re: Plans for lining up?

Nowadays, some new releases - especially the big ones - are clearly marked at the box office with "NO PASSES". So your chances with a pass are slim, if not non-existent.

Re: Plans for lining up?

Hey, if Fellowship is released during the Christmas holiday or something, why don't we all meet and line up together at some bigshot theatre? Add that to the fact that Countingdown said they wouldn't do a line for LOTR... now we just have to deal with TheOneRing.
