Why we should all Thank Melkor

Besides Illuvatar, Melkor is the most important person in middle earth.

Think about it, if it wasn't for Melkor who made things evil and stole the Jewels and all, there would be no Similarion, and there would be no Sauron so there would be Lord of the Rings.

Thats right! Its all Melkor's labour that we have these stories. IJf it wasn't for him, then middle earth would just be boring and no one wants to read books where everything's peaceful and everyone loves each other cause whats the point in that?

So Praise Melkor, the greatest of the Valar!

I didn't think Melkor was technically a Vala. Was he?

Technically he was a Vala, and the most powerful of them, but when he tried to usurp the throne of Manwe, and seek the Impersihable Flame, he was no longer counted among them.

He was the greatest of the Valar. So what if he was a little not-nice. I mean you guys all misunderstand him. Without him, there would be no point to middle-earth. Beren and Luthen would have never gotten married if he hadn't stolen the jewels.

It is no question that any operation of one of the Ainur in the music and in the world it self led in the end to higher glorry of Eru's creation.
So in that way Melkor was only the tool through which Eru's ultimate will worked to his owne glorry.

Respectfully

See, Melkor suffered banishment because he wanted to make middle-earth interesting, not because he was evil.

Well, he made a good story alright, but I would rather have a perfect world free from evil and suffering.

As much as he made a good story, I'd have to agree with Nolendil.

That would be boring and the world would never advance. The fastest periods of scientific developments on earth are during wars. Without suffering and war, we'd be a bunch of weaklings. Well, actually, I prefer not too much suffering and war either but I'm sure glad that Lord of the Rings had Melkor.

You heartless wretch! It wouldn't matter if we were weaklings if we didn't have war. I' rather have peace and be weak then have thousands of men and women who have families die to protect us.

I don't think we should thank Melkor for slaughtering the innocent creatures of Arda, but I think he was one of the most important umm, creature (besides Eru). What is the flame imperishable, I can't remember what it is

The creating Spirit of Iluvatar, by which the Valar, Maiar, and Ea were made. It is with Iluvatar alone.

I think bordem is only of the reasons fighting breaks out in the troubled parts of the world. I mean think about it, they are not very educated, they don't have computer games, no internet, they aren't told how to play chess or enjoy good literature. I mean, what can they do for fun besides fight?

I know, I'm heartless.

It's entirely besides your point, which is humorous, but chess was invented in India thousands of years ago.
