The Climate of Middle-Earth

Researchers at the University of Bristol have published a study of the climate of Middle Earth in the prestigious American journal Science. The study is available in English, Elvish, and Dwarvish. (Note that the scientists used Arabic numbers in the Dwarvish edition of the study.)

Never let anyone tell you that you’re a geek for hanging out around Entmoot. Tell them that even climatologists study Tolkien.

As a scientist, this makes me so incredibly happy. Publishing in Science is something my peers and I dream about. Now my dreams can be even happier with the inclusion of Middle Earth. Plus, it shows that even the top scientists have a sense of humor!
