Going Invisible

Quit going invisible, you scaredy-cats!!! What is everyone so friggin' fearful of, that they feel they must cloak themselves here on the Moot? I cannot tell you how much it annoys me when key mooters and RPG players insist upon going invisible. What are you all trying to avoid?

Comments will be enormously appreciated. Auto-Lock of this new thread will be considered highly suspect. If you auto-padlock this thread I will be forced to assume that there is a conspiracy of sorts afoot amonst us Mooters. *eyes shift paranoically back and forth.* WHY the cloak!? If you wish to remain anonymous, just don't register, and / or don't log in. Why the secrecy?

I can't say I don't know why you started this thread, when I popped in today there was only your name on the list but it showed 2 logged-in members. That can be really frustrating, knowing you're not alone in here but still feeling like that.

If I don't have enough time to post properly but still wanna know if something is going on, I just don't log in and take a quick look, so I know whom & what I should answer later. That's how it works for me...

ExACTly that's how it works 4 me, too. But there's a fine, healthy handful of Mooters whom I enjoy a lot and like a lot, and some of them I RPG with, and these guys STILL want to cloak!!! What's the fascination with it? What, you guys don't want anyone else knowing you're online, when they are? I just does not make sense to me. Why the big to-do with freakin' secrecy; we're not trying to converge on covert group technology on the latest neutron bomb innovation!!!! Knock it off I say. Dammit.

I know; I hate that! I love to log on and see my friends' names - I feel like it's kind of like I'm saying "hi" to them across the wires, and then I can look for their posts and such, or drop them a quick PM or something.

I made a discussion on the venting thread on this a coupla years ago, and actually converted a few people.

I know what you mean. I only go invisible when I have to leave myself logged on when I go out for a bit and am not at my computer.

I don't really know how to do it, not that I have ever needed it.

Agree with Lotesse though, why don't stay uncloaked? It's cool to be a ninja, but, that's a little bit over the top

That's it.
Pulls rohirrims pants up over his ears and gives him a super-wedgie before filching 'em

My invisibility comes from my super-spammer days when I didn't want people know just how *much* time I spent on the 'moot. 'Course I think the post-count gave it away. Now it's like a comfy old blanket... you'll never know what I'm getting up to underneath it!

the fact that you have 8000+ posts is insignificant compared to the power of the darkside....
