Chick With A Guitar!

I'm a chick with a guitar, yeah (strum G chord) A chick with a guitar, yea-heah (strum G7 chord)

Yup, I got a guitar today Hoohah! So far I've managed to only drop the pick in it once! I can't really play it, just a few chords, but my father drew me up some lesson plans.

Any other fellow guitar players out there, and if so, do you have any tips?

I've never tried a stringed instrument, and it looks very puzzling.

Cool! Guitars rock! All guitar-playing chicks unite!!

What kind of guitar, Starr?

Tips, um, tips . . . practice, practice, practice! You probably knew that already, though.

My guitar is a very old (it used to be my sister's) low quality acoustic. It's a Harmony. When I get a little better my father might give me one of his electric guitars (he has five). They're easier to play. My fingers are all red!

Well, yeah, they are pretty puzzling, but no more than any instrument is when you first begin to learn it. Once I get some muscle memory I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Practice practice practice is right! I picked up the saxaphone fairly fast thanks to having practice in band every week day...so I'll just have to make myself practice the guitar.

I can play acoustic guitar fairly well. Your fingers are really going to hurt the first few days. Them turning red is normal. You may also get blood blisters, but those are no big deal. If you practice, your fingers will get used to it, and it will stop hurting. Already being musically inclined really helps. it being low quality might cause some tuning problems. You may want to learn how to tune it rather quickly if possible. Otherwise it is going to start sounding funny rather quickly, and it gets annoying having to ask others to tune it for you. It is good that you have your father to help you. That will make it easyer.

Yes, shutting up would be a good idea Tater, as I do in fact play several instruments.

Excuse me. But I think this back and forth nonsence needs to be kept to PMs, and not cluddering up the Forums. Thank you.

I see what you mean by going out of tune...oi...my poor ears. I do need to learn how to tune it, and fast, because I don't know if I'm playing the chords right, since they sound so bad.
