Well, the best site I can think of is www.mudconnect.com The MUD Connector. It's an enormous database of text-based games called MUDs, MUSH's, and MUX's (I think). You can run a search on what subject of game you'd like to play. A really good MUD for beginners is Mirkwood. To connect to it, go the Mud Connector, search for Mirkwood, and when you find it, click connect.

There's a pretty big one at www.ezone.com , although that's kind of kiddy. There's also www.addictinggames.com , which is a collection of a vast bunch of games from different sites.
