Gandalf The Sword, The Bow and The Axe

Here's where the above trilogi will be written.

Prologue to The Sword, The Bow & The Axe

The Terrible wars of the 35th Century had left Earth in horrific state. The nuclear, biological and chemical weapons used in the conflicts had changed Mankind into a degenerate species hardly able to take care of itself.

Now, in 6579, a horrid foe was unleashed upon the hapless remnant of Mankind which now called itself the Makhd. The enemy was reptilian and coldhearted, having no and showing no mercy towards it's prey. Thousands of men, women and children were massacred before the shamans finally forged the Golden Sword, The Silver Bow and The Bronze Axe, which were magical weapons and in the hands of the right wielder would help defeat the Cromando.

These weapons did defeat the Cromando the first time and as time passed the Guardians of the Temple, where the weapons were kept, lessened in vigilance and the weapons disappeared mysteriously.

Centuries passed and unfortunately, the Makhd were not prepared for a second unleashing and yet more horrific massacres. The Shamans gathered and a group of specially chosen tribemembers were sent out on a quest to find the heirlooms.

And so on...

You can chose any chapter, bu if you want to you can begin with the telling of the peaceful existance of the Makhd before the Second Onslaught. You could Introduce The Main Characters for example.

I don't have any clear idea of their names and personalities yet but with help from fellow 'mooters we can most probably come up with some very good ones.

It itsn't related to Middle Earth. This is a completely new story which was transferred to this post because an attempt at writing it was made at General Messages but it was closed before it even begun. And a couple of 'mooters suggested that we write it in this forum instead.

Here's some names for the Main Characters:

Since The Makhd is divided into clans I thought that Scottish- or Irish-sounding names for them would be nice.

For example:

Of the Humans:

Ian Macdogal, of the 3rd clan of the Temple Guards.
A clan forever disgraced because of the vanished heirlooms. Naturally Ian must be one of the chosen for the Quest to redeem his clan.

And of the Cromando:

N'ta'ch, Commander of the 372nd Bo'org, 10th Nation.

okay, I'd like to introduce 2 characters.
Of the Makhd:

Corra and Cronan O'Kelley, of the second Clan. The ancestors of this clan took cover during the Terrible Wars. They were mutated slightly be poisoning in their water, however, not as much as the other clans. The Silver Bgow, which was passed on in the O'Kelley family, was lost in the first onslaught when their parents were killed. The O'Kelley twins must reclaim their possessions and avenge their parents in order to redeem their honour within the tribes.

That's a good plot for Book 2 - The Bow.

William Laird of the first clan. A chieftain's son with a major ego. Nevertheless he is an amazing warrior and bowman.

The Lairds have always been chieftains (Laird means Lord) but their family was disgraced by some affair involving William's great-grandfather so William is also out to win back family honour.

A couple of Cromandos:

M'no'och, First Warrior, 372nd Bo'org, 10th Nation.

Bran'ach, Second Warrior, 372nd Bo'org, 10th Nation.

Bran'och, "Brother" of Bran'ach, just a lowly soldier.

Gandalf

The Sword

Chapter One

Peace

The village lay in a clearing on the huge peninsula between the Great Lakes. It was surrounded by a wildgrown forest. The houses in the village was lain out in a rectangular pattern with a large square in the middle.
At the eastern end of this square lay the Old Temple. The Guards, that was still posted in front of the doors, was merely an old tradition, since the Sword that was supposed to be guarded, was no longer there.
By the doors of the Old Temple, Hugh and Ian MacDogal stood awaiting the Changing of the Guards.

Book Two:
The Silver Bow

Chapter One
Twins

Corra smiled at her brother. They had never been alone. Her parents came into the dimly lit room and brought food. It was slimy and green, but nourishing. And the twins had never eaten anything else. They had lived underground all their lives and had never even seen Earth's sun or moon or sky. The Cromando were above ground and the Second Clan had been the wisest, or so the twins were told, to take cover. It was the wisdom of the Bow which led them to this place, and for forty years the Cromando had searched but not found.

A tenative 'Hello'

Do I have to start The Ax, or can I do the next part of The Sword?

Go ahead. Do the next part of The Sword. I didn't think anyone was interested, so I'd sort of given up on the whole thing. But if we can get going again it would be nice.

I got some "Cyborg" assosiations (the Van Damme movie) when I read the prelude

Though, never the less it seems interesting in a way... hmm...

The Silver Bow.

It seemed like a year since her last meal. As the only Children of the Second Clan, Cronan and Corra were hidden to preserve their line. The Cromando had attacked, so the twins were put in a secret safe that not even the Second Clan's sensors could detect. All the adults had gone to fight. After forty years, the Cromando had finally found the hideout of the Second Clan Corra didn't even want to think about th eslaughter going on outside the vault. She and her brother withdrew as deep into the labrynth as they could, hoping to get away from the Cromando's bio sensors. They stumbled into a room they had never before seen. In the center there was a strange article. It was gleaming silver with a blinding light.

"WHat do you suppose it is?" asked Corra.
"Maybe it's the Bow." answered Cronan.
At that stark realization, the two fell to their knees and asked the Bow's forgiveness. It did not reply.
THere was a loud noise behind them. The Cromando had found the safe and blown it open. There was no time to wonder how, only time to run. THe children fled as fast as their thirteen-year-old feet could carry them. They soon noticed a small incline in the dirt pathways they were using. THen, the tunnel abruptly stopped. There was a small light coming from above them. The children looked up. A hole! they could crawl out!

So, with last strength, the two climbed onto the surface. Inevitably, they were both blinded by their first sight of the sun. Ignoring what they had been taught, they both squinted their eyes and stared at the glorious yellowish- orange orb in the sky.
