The Ring, or Not the Ring?
Okay, don't laugh. For my birthday, I want a collectors item for LOTR. I have 3 choices, images of all of which can be found at http://www.skymall.com under "Collectibles" and then under "Lord of the Rings". Here's what I want help choosing from:
1. The Silver One Ring 2. The One Ring-Silver Edition 3. Galadriel's Ring Which one should I get?

I'd pick one of the "One Rings", that way, you dont have to get into explaining what Galadriel's ring is or all about

I'd actually chose Galadriel's ring for that very purpose; it's not easily recognizable and might have to be explained. Good conversation piece I guess, either that or if you don't want to explain, you can be all smug about it and keep the facts to yourself.

Personally, I'd go for the Galadriel ring. If you'd pick a One Ring, it should IMO at least be gold-coloured instead of silver. Unles you're afraid Galadriel's ring will catch on fabric and such, then maybe a One Ring may be more practical.

Galadriel's ring no doubt. But it's something how the One Ring is a normal average looking ring compared to all the others. I know it's been mentioned before, but worth mentioning again. It reminds me of how the REAL cup of Jesus was normal and homely while the other more expensive cups were not cups that Jesus used.

Galadriel's ring? Do they really think Nenya was like that: a lot of silver and some tiny stones?
Where is the huge diamond, I ask ye? Personally I only liked One Ring silver edition. Looks more or less OK: gilded ring on a silver chain. |

Well, a couple days ago I was surprised with the One Ring gold edition. It's really cool, the elven letters are lazer engraved, and its plated in 14k gold.

If you look the same age 60 years from now as you do today, and start feeling thin and stretched, don't say you weren't warned.
