First Chapters

What will your first chapter be about?

Mine is going to be a dream about an ancester being attacked because she has been blamed for witchcraft.

On one, My first chapter will be on one main character's awaking to the political problems of the time after meeting the other main character.

On the other, the mess one main character got into after a royal's death. (and no it wasn't by his hand)

that sounds like a great begining to a story, s8

mine is three characters in the middle of their fortresses ruins reading the final passage from a tattered blood-stained book.

One of my first chapters deals with a jaded halfling running into a wandering dwarf...another one is about an attack on a jungle village...still another opens as the heros flee a mob of angry corsairs!
