Vote for us at 25 Hobbits

I'd like to thank everyone who has been voting for us at 25 Hobbits - that combined with several other factors including joining the Tolkien Network has increased our traffic dramatically this past week.

To vote, simply go to the main Tolkien Trail page, scroll down until you see "Vote for us" on the sidebar. Then enter 25 Hobbits. We ought to be in the top ten, so you can easily click back on the Trail to come back here. This is an easy, free, way to support the site, and we appreciate it. Please vote whenever you can. If you're a crazed internet addict then know that you can vote a maximum of once per half hour .

It resets every Sunday morning (today) so we have a good shot of getting the #1 slot if we get a lot of votes today.

#1!!!

That's unlikely to last long... but it still looks cool .

Special thanks to IronParrot, Glaurung, dmaul96, gdl96, and Bullroarer, who cast the most recent votes.

And YOU lecture OTHERS about posting in a specific advertising thread?

Entmoot is part of The Tolkien Trail, so advertising tt stuff is of course ok

"Faites ce que je dit, pas ce que je fais!". or in english: "Do what I say, not what I do!"

That's like the untold right policemen have to break the law to arrest a criminal?

Not at all. It's against the rules to advertise other sites and boards, but Tolkientrail.com and Entmoot are part of the same whole.

Exactly.

The Tolkien Trail is as much a part of Entmoot as Entmoot is a part of The Trail. What is good for Entmoot is good for The Trail and visa versa. They are each an extension of the other. When we promote The Trail we are promoting Entmoot. People might see us at the top and decide to go there and then they might decide to visit Entmoot. It is all about free advertising at another site, and voting gives us better visibility. Hey, what is wrong with a little self-promotion within our own site?

I think that is enough....

Re: Exactly.

He made a whole bunch of posts at my board a few weeks ago after the new design and layout was done. I was curious why he hadn't posted here.

Re: Exactly.

Yeah the people at the Barrow Downs made him an admin and a site partner, so he's over there now. Those Barrow-Wights "stole" him from right under our noses with some ridiculous story, and I found the thread too:

pub2.ezboard.com/fbenjami...=216.topic

greetings mooters,
sorry to kind of barge in , but I have recently been accused of all things , of being Gilthalion!
Any idea how this strangeness could have come about?

feel free to reply privately or here or prob. best, at the barrowdowns "oh,by the way the ...polls" thread in the books forum. Hope it is not an inconvience.
Gilthalion replies:

Wow! I'm going to have to check out the Barrow Downs again! I don't think I ever posted there...

If they pass compliments like that out to folks, it must be a wonderful group of people!
The lengths people go to to get new posters astounds me sometimes...

I suppose BD is a decent site, except for the fact that they don't have a link to us despite the fact that I emailed them a week ago about it .

Of course Gil and all the other BD people are welcome here any time they would like... and I think they are all here with the nomad caravan this week. I even saw RKittle poking around here the other day.
