The thing is that, he should not have to resort to putting people on his ignore list just because a couple other people want to do as they please and say what they wish, nomatter if others find it offensive or not.

Well, if it was only a couple of people.....then we can presume that he (tho' I'm pretty sure GSOG13 was a she) had already explored those other options.

I was always under the impression that the Ignore option existed to blank out the posters that a person finds offensive, guess I was wrong.

The ignore option is there for users to make certian other users posts invisible to them for various reasons as you have done with JD. You did not put JD on your ignore list because you found him offensive, you did it because you and he just can not agree on topics and end up arguing. That is not the case with this user. Why should non-offensive posters have to put offensive posters on their ignore list, especially when the offensive posters are offending so many and ignoring administrative warnings? That's like saying : people should stay locked up in there houses if they don't like crime on the streets.

Well, if you really feel like discussing who I put on my Ignore list on a public forum, fine.

I actually put JD on my ignore list because I find him arrogant, condescending (which I have told him in various threads) and he will always drag a thread off-topic, these are factors that I personally find distastefull and offensive *shrugs* ....... therefore I put him on Ignore. Surely you must agree that the only reason two members constantly resort to flaming is because they find each other offensive.

I found this to be an amicable solution and I suggested the same to GSOG13 ......... I don't know why she has a problem with certain members........but I know that my 'mooting time has been much more enjoyable since I used the Ignore function :/

SGH, if you are going to presume the entirity of my actions, at least make the effort to discuss them in PM before throwing any dirty laundry on a public thread.

Just my opinion but, I don't think JD was ever offended by anything you've said. He seemed irritated and annoyed more than anything. I haven't found JD to take discussions off topic much. I just think he is very patriotic and passionate in his opinions.

That very nice that you are happy with doing that Coney. My point though, is that users should not have to do that under certian circumstances. Why should trouble making users be able to go about as they wish, and the non-troublemaking users have to take steps to avoid them? That doesn't seem quite fair to me.
