Woo-hoo!!

Just got finished watching TPM, in the comfort of my very own home! I must say though, the transfer to small screen was not what I expected. (Maybe I saw it too many times in the theatre...) Everyone looked small and distance.....and certain nuances that I noticed after watching it 10 times were not visible. Forget about ever seeing George's portrait, unless you have a big screen tv, maybe. (I viewed in on a 27in with the widescreen version.)

If anyone else agrees with me let me know.....
I have been known to see things that no one else sees.

Re: Woo-hoo!!

Happy joy joy!!!! You can't imagine the state of euphoric ecstasy I was in watching it! I didn't get the wide screen, which may be why I didn't have that effect anduin. On the contrary, Qui Gon's death on video (not widescreen) was even more powerfull because his faced filled the page!!!

Re: Woo-hoo!!

I got my copy today and I watched it. I have a widescreen version and I did not see things that bothered me except for a small square thing that moved on the sky in one scene on Tatooine.

I got to say I love this movie. Some scenes still bring tears to my eyes.

Re: Woo-hoo!!

Emisson, did you get the 5-frame 35mm film strip with it?

Re: Woo-hoo!!

My widescreen version came with the film strip and a book on the art of SW. They are calling a "Special Edition"......I was just wondering if all widescreen versions came this way.....

Re: Woo-hoo!!

That is probably something that comes with the videos in the US. I have not seen it here.

Re: Woo-hoo!!

I have just learned that my family has bought the video. So when I go home for the summer (in two weeks!) I will get to see it.

Re: Woo-hoo!!

Hmm... should I get widescreen or pan and scan???

I hate those annoying black lines in w.s., but I hate the lack of detail in pan and scan...

Widescreen costs more but it comes with stuff

Re: Woo-hoo!!

Those black lines Ben, seem larger than what I am use to....I am now wondering myself if I should have gotten pan and scan. As for the "stuff", it is just a book with all of the drawings you have seen before and the filmstrip is not that big of a deal. If you still unsure which version to get.....ask Tater, he is very pleased with his pan and scan.

Incidently, I must not be too disappointed with my widescreen version.....I have watched it 4 times now.
