Middle-earth Poetry Contest
Attention all Middle-earth poets! The Tolkien Trail has partnered with Tolkien.co.uk, the new website of HarperCollins UK, the official publishers of Tolkien's works to bring you this exciting contest. You could win a set of The Lord of the Rings with the all new Voyager Classic covers.
All you have to do is write an original Middle-earth themed poem. There is no limit on the length or style - go for a 3-line haiku or a full epic; it is your choice. Your entries can be serious or humorous, but there will be just one winning poem.
Rules: Each individual may submit up to 5 poems to email@example.com. The contest begins Friday, August 10th, 2001 and ends Friday, September 7th, 2001. All poems must be in by that date - we will decide on the winner over the weekend and announce it on September 10th, 2001. You must include a valid email address; in case you win, we need to be able to contact you.
One person will receive the prize and have their poem displayed prominently on the site. We will also select our favorites from the other entries to post in the Rivendell section of the Trail.
Judges: The Judges of this contest will be bmilder, Darth Tater, anduin, Inoldonil, and Fat Middle. The Judges and their family members cannot enter the contest.
